Bine ați venit la ID GAMES

Co-crearea de jocuri de susținere pentru a îmbunătăți integrarea persoanelor cu dizabilități intelectuale

Proiectul “ID GAMES” se bazează pe convingerea că fiecare persoană ar trebui să aibă  șansa de a fi acceptată, valorizată și să aibă oportunități egale de a-și dezvolta abilitățile și personalitatea. Incluziunea socială este definită drept „procesul de îmbunătățire a condițiilor de participare în societate, în special pentru persoanele defavorizate, prin îmbunătățirea oportunităților, acces la resurse, voce și respectarea drepturilor.” (Raportul ONU privind situația socială mondială, 2016).

Printre aceste grupuri se numără persoane evaluate cu dizabilități intelectuale (DI), care pot fi excluse din activitățile comunitare generale din cauza provocărilor sociale cu care se confruntă. Disabilitatea intelectuală (DI) este o tulburare de dezvoltare care afectează comportamentul adaptativ și funcționarea intelectuală a unei persoane (AAIDD, 2013). Persoanele cu DI (pcDI) se confruntă cu limitări majore în abilitățile conceptuale, abilitățile sociale și abilitățile practice. Jocurile serioase (fizice și / sau digitale) sunt o practică non-farmaceutică binecunoscută pentru pcDI, deoarece oferă un mediu de experimentare lipsit de presiune, precum și o mai bună captare a atenției.

De multe ori, jocurile tradiționale nu sunt potrivite persoanelor cu dizabilități cognitive și le determină să-și piardă interesul mai rapid și mai ușor.

The “ID GAMES” project is based on the belief that each person should be given the chance to be accepted, valued and have equal opportunities to develop their skills and personality. Social inclusion is defined as “the process of improving the terms of participation in society, particularly for people who are disadvantaged, through enhancing opportunities, access to resources, voice and respect for rights.” (UN Report on the World Social Situation, 2016).

Among those groups are people assessed with Intellectual Disability (ID) who may be excluded in mainstream community activities due to social challenges they encounter. Intellectual Disability (ID) is a developmental disorder that affects the adaptive behavior and intellectual functioning of a person, (AAIDD, 2013). People with ID (pwID) face major limitations in conceptual skills, social skills and practical skills. Serious games (physical and/or digital ones) are a well-known non pharmaceutical practice for pwID because they offer a pressure-free environment of experimentation as well as better capture of attention.

Traditional games often do not apply to people cognitively challenged, and lead them to lose interest quicker and more easily.

Συν-δημιουργώντας υποστηρικτικά παιχνίδια για την ενίσχυση της ένταξης των ατόμων με Νοητική Αναπηρία

Το πρόγραμμα “ID GAMES” βασίζεται στη φιλοσοφία ότι σε κάθε άτομο θα πρέπει να διασφαλίζονται ίσες ευκαιρίες για την ανάπτυξη της προσωπικότητας και των δεξιοτήτων του, καθώς και της αποδοχής του ως ισάξιο μέλος της κοινωνίας. Η έννοια της κοινωνικής ένταξης ορίζεται ως «μια διαδικασία βελτίωσης των συνθηκών που προωθούν την συμμετοχή στην κοινωνία, ιδιαίτερα των ατόμων που ανήκουν σε ευάλωτες ομάδες, μέσω της ενίσχυσης ευκαιριών, πρόσβασης σε πόρους, ενδυνάμωσης της φωνής και σεβασμού των δικαιωμάτων». (UN Report on the World Social Situation,  2016).

Ανάμεσα σε αυτές τις ομάδες συναντάμε και τα άτομα με Νοητική Αναπηρία/Νοητική Υστέρηση (ΝΥ), τα οποία μπορεί να βιώνουν αποκλεισμό όσον αφορά τη συμμετοχή τους σε δραστηριότητες στην κοινότητα, κυρίως λόγω των κοινωνικών προκλήσεων που καλούνται να αντιμετωπίσουν.

Η Νοητική Υστέρηση (ΝΥ) είναι μια αναπτυξιακή διαταραχή, η οποία επιδρά στην προσαρμοστική συμπεριφορά και τη νοητική λειτουργία ενός ατόμου (AAIDD, 2013). Τα άτομα με Νοητική Υστέρηση (ΝΥ) έχουν αρκετούς περιορισμούς όσον αφορά τις γνωστικές, κοινωνικές και πρακτικές δεξιότητες τους. Τα «Σοβαρά Παιχνίδια» ή αλλιώς Serious Games (φυσικά ή/και ψηφιακά) αποτελούν μια αποδεκτή μορφή μη φαρμακευτικής παρέμβασης για τα άτομα με ΝΥ γιατί προσφέρουν τη δυνατότητα διερεύνησης και ενίσχυσης της προσοχής δημιουργώντας συνθήκες που δεν προκαλούν πίεση στον συμμετέχοντα.

Από την άλλη πλευρά, τα παραδοσιακά παιχνίδια συχνά δεν είναι κατάλληλα για άτομα με νοητικές δυσκολίες με αποτέλεσμα τα άτομα να χάνουν το ενδιαφέρον τους πιο γρήγορα και πιο εύκολα.
